I’m Sam Harrison and have been teaching at Plano East since 2006. I grew up in Richland Hills, TX and graduated from Richland High School in 2001. During my freshman year I had a rodeo accident that left me a paraplegic. Thanks to God and the support of many people, I was able to become independent and active. Once back in school, I continued to participate in our high school rodeo team, FFA, and really enjoyed our Horticulture program. So much so that I went to Tarleton State University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Turfgrass Management. I loved TSU, and Stephenville. I met my wife, Stephanie, there and we were married on campus.
While at Tarleton I had the chance to see the impact high school Ag and Ag teachers have on students. I decided to stay and earned a Master of Science in Agricultural Education with teacher certification. Currently I teach Ag Mechanics, Landscape Design, Wildlife Management, and Animal Science at Plano East. I supervise student SAEs in raising broiler chickens and building Ag Mechanics projects. I also train various LDEs and CDEs. We have a great well rounded program and I believe we have a place for everyone!
