Howdy! I'm Caitlin Schmedthorst, and I'm the Agricultural Science Teacher at Plano East Senior High School. This will be my second year in this district and I'm excited to be a part of such a wonderful and welcoming school. I grew up south of San Antonio, and then graduated in East Texas, by Huntsville. I grew up with both traditional and diverse agricultural influences with my grandparents cattle ranch and my mother a florist, this helps me be able to relate to the kids from all different backgrounds. Agriculture continued to be my influence into my high school years, where I was extremely involved in my FFA chapter. I discovered then that educating young people about agriculture was my passion, and I pursued that passion at Tarleton State University. During my time there I met my husband, John, and we were married after graduation. I received my Bachelors of Science in Agricultural Services & Development, with my state teacher certification in 2019. Currently I teach Vet Science, Livestock Production, Equine Science, Landscape Design, Wildlife and Practicum in AFNR courses at Plano East. I will be supervising the student SAE's in hogs as well as training various LDE and CDE teams. Let's have a great year y'all!
